Teachers and Assistant Teachers help facilitate play both inside and out. They set up tasks and art projects for the children to choose from, using a variety of materials.
9:00 – Each child places any items in cubby, staff checks for any obvious signs of illness, parent signs in, checks file and parent cart for information and notices from the school

9:00 – Children select an indoor activity, to include: blocks dramatic play, art activities, books, manipulatives (puzzles, counting, patterning, sorting, etc…) science center, or special teacher planned activities. Teacher, aide and volunteers are available to assist in the various areas in order to facilitate learning, or for some activities may merely supervise.
10:00 – Teacher-selected story is read to the children as they sit on the floor in a semi-circle. Children are encouraged to participate in singing, movement exploration, story-telling, flannel board, etc. activities and working together as a large group.
Clean Up, Bathroom, and Washing:
10:30 – Children assist in putting away materials and practice good health habits such as hand washing after toileting.
10:45 – Focus is on children preparing, serving, pouring and socializing in a pleasant social atmosphere. Children gain pride and self-confidence by bringing snack from home to share with their peers.
11:00 – Children are encouraged to dress themselves and select an outdoor activity. Extended time is allowed for the many large motor activities available as well as problem solving and conflict resolution strategies learned in this environment.
11:45 – Children meet in small groups to participate in an adult-led activity or a shared self-directed group activity.
12:00 – Children assist in putting toys away. The group gathers at the circle time area to sign closing songs and say good-byes. Parents pick up children and sign them out as they leave.
